Necto Selection are searching for a Senior Site Engineer for an award-winning main contractor based in Co. Limerick. Our client is one of the largest Construction, Civil Engineering, and Development companies in Ireland, delivering projects across Ireland, the UK and Europe. Furthermore, our client has witnessed continuous growth in their Life Sciences and Tech business unit and is actively searching for an experienced engineering professional to come and join their talented team.

This is a very exciting opportunity for a Senior Engineer to continue their career in a site-based role. The successful candidate will be provided with invaluable opportunities to work within a great team of professionals on some of Ireland’s largest and most exciting construction and civil engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities

Duties will include:

Ensure that Site and Graduate Engineers take responsibility for the management of survey equipment.

Lead Site and Graduate Engineers, demonstrating best practices.

Must have a strong awareness of the best forms of dimensional control and be comfortable with rotating global grids into a local grid format.

Ensure that the engineering team completes as-built surveys for key elements of the project and have a solid understanding of key tolerances and analysing details across several interfaces to highlight potential problems.

Must have strong knowledge of the principles of quality control for the majority of packages. Can review and create Inspection and Test Plans.

Manage project specifications, in particular tolerances for vertical and horizontal structural elements.

Control components of the SISK Non-Conformance procedure and create and close out Non-Conformances.

Undertake the role of the Temporary Works Co-ordinator (when appointed) and ensure the Sisk Temporary Works procedures are implemented for both direct and sub-contracted works.

Review and create method statements and risk assessments.

Identification of missing information and raising RFIs.

Develop the project logistics plan and offer input into establishing the programme to completion.

Work closely with the Project Planner, consistently providing them with updates and allowing programmes to be updated.

Take responsibility for ground validation reports to fulfill planning obligations.

Assist the project Design Manager in the design approvals process and establishes benchmarks and samples.

Experience, Qualifications & Skills

The ideal candidate will have the following:

B.Eng. in Civil Engineering or another relevant third-level qualification.

3 - 5 years’ experience working in the construction industry as a Senior Engineer, with a proven track record in successfully delivering projects to tight deadlines.

Track record in mentoring and guiding junior members of staff.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Good working knowledge of AutoCAD.
