NECTO Selection are looking for a talented Civils Site Engineer to join our clients’ team in Northern Ireland. The successful candidate will join our clients’ civils team and work on a water infrastructure project in the Midlands.  Our client is an award-winning, multifaceted Construction, Civil Engineering, and Development company. Our client prides themselves on impeccable standards and thus in return it yields high return of repeat business from many of its clients.

The successful candidate will be provided with invaluable opportunities to work within a great team of professionals on some of Irelands largest and most exciting projects.

Roles and responsibilities

·      Reading, interpreting and providing clear communication of construction drawings on site for layouts, material measurements etc.

·      Setting-out the site and dimensional controls in accordance with the relevant contract Drawings, Specification and Site Surveys

·      Checking materials and works in progress for compliance with the specified requirements

·      Reviewing construction outputs and planning the most efficient sequence of operations with an emphasis on control of the works, quality, and technical advice

·      Continually developing your knowledge in the industry, communicating and implementing best practice guidance to line managers and relevant staff.

·      Keeping a record of all daily activities, relevant information, and occurrences in your site diary

·      Raising RFI’s and resolving technical issues with employer’s representatives, suppliers, subcontractors, and statutory authorities

·      Quality control and record must be kept in accordance with procedural method statements, quality plans and inspection and test plans which have been prepared by the project management team by subcontractors

·      Developing and maintaining professional and working relationships with all personnel

·      Monitor and check setting out instruments and testing equipment

·      Adhering to all safety company requirements as outlined in the company safety statement

·      Follow instructions and attend meetings as required

Requirements

·      Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or another related discipline

·      5+ years post qualification experience

·      Current full driving licence

·      Experience within the water or the utilities sector is essential

·      Must be able to deliver reports both verbally and written in a professional manner

·      Must display good interpersonal and communication skills and act in an independent and professional manner with the ability to influence others including senior management

·      Proficient in the use of total stations, EDM’s, Lasers or Dumpy leve
